Domain (domain name)
— a unique website address on the Internet, which the user enters into the browser's address bar to get to the desired web page.
The domain name structure consists of several parts separated by dots. For example, in the third.second domain.first.com:
- .com is a top—level domain that indicates belonging to a specific zone;
- first — the second-level domain, the main part of the address, indicates the name and subject of the site.;
- second and third are third—level domains (subdomains), used to designate sections or services of the site.
Important!
The domain is unique and can belong to only one owner. According to the legal status, the domain is an object of lease: the user does not buy the name forever, but takes it for use for a certain period of time — from a year or more.
How to choose a domain?
- Come up with a domain name like www.yoursite .***
- Check if it is busy on any of the domain name verification services (for example, the registrar’s website beget.com ) or in the window below
- Decide on a domain zone — choose a zone depending on your goals: .cz, .eu, .de — for local businesses, .com — if you plan to enter the international market, .ai — for IT projects and startups, etc.
How to purchase a domain name?
- If the name is free, pay its rent for a period from 1 to 10 years from any registrar (for example, beget.com ). You can also order this service for us by sending a request.
- Keep in mind that prices for the same domain name may vary from registrar to registrar.
- Fill in the owner’s details — enter the full name or company name, ID (if necessary), contacts.
- Pay for the domain — the price depends on the zone and the specific name. Some domains, especially short ones or those that were previously used, may be priced higher than standard rates.
- To confirm registration, you will receive a confirmation email. Sometimes you need to go through verification by uploading a scanned document or confirming your phone number.
How to connect a domain?
- Specify DNS servers (this is done on the registrar’s website. If the hosting already exists, its DNS is entered, if not, you can temporarily leave the standard data from the registrar. If you decide to use our hosting, you will receive the DNS server data from us.
- Some binding methods:
- Automatically. For example, the registrar’s website has a feature that allows you to link a domain to a hosting service automatically. In this case, you need to select the hosting service to which you want to link the domain, and click “Add site”.
- Manually. If the automatic binding did not work, you can connect the domain to the hosting manually. In this case, you need to specify the hosting DNS for the domain and add the domain to the web hosting control panel.
